Replacing a Lost Registration
Choose Your State
Being able to prove that your vehicle is currently registered in your home state is important, if you are to have a vehicle that is street legal. So, whether you have misplaced your registration card or your current registration has become mutilated or unreadable, you'll need to get a replacement.
Many states allow you to print a copy of your vehicle registration after completing the duplicate request.
Getting a duplicate registration is not difficult, but in order to receive one in a reasonable length of time means completing all the steps in proper order. At DMV.ORG, we take the time to explain the process, tell you which forms you will need, and show you how much a replacement registration will cost.
