Dealer Forms in Oklahoma
The automotive sales and service business will probably never be a paperless industry. There are multiple forms to be completed with each transaction and each form must be complete, with all information correct and in the proper place. It's a wonder, sometimes, that anyone completes an automotive sales transaction!
Just for starters, there are forms to file with the State to apply for your dealership permits. Then there are forms to be completed with each transaction. There are different forms for new car dealerships and used car dealerships and for titles, transfers, repossessions, liens, releases, and just about anything else related to the buying or selling of automobiles.
All new and used motor vehicle dealerships are governed by the Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission (OMVC).
Forms
Most of the forms related to the buying and selling of motor vehicles both used and new can be found at the OMVC forms Web page, and are available for download using the free Adobe Reader.
For example, you'll find registration, lien, repossession, transfer of ownership and many other dealer forms at the OMVC website.
New Car Dealerships
In order to begin the process of becoming a licensed automobile dealer in Oklahoma, you must first file an Application Packet for Initial Dealer Franchise License(s).
Note that this application does not apply to motorcycle, scooter, ATV or off-road cycle dealers. It applies only to new car dealers and not used car dealers.
Included in the packet are the applications, financial information forms, business history forms, affidavit of extended service plan, manufacturer/distributors(s) lists, dealer sales and service agreements, management agreements, and facility inspection.
You must also supply 6 individual pictures of the following:
- Front of the building.
- Showroom.
- Outdoor sign.
- Parts department.
- Service department.
- Service department exhaust system.
This packet, including the pictures and $300 fee per franchise, must be submitted by U.S. Mail to:

New Motor Vehicle Salespeople
All motor vehicle salespeople must be licensed in the State of Oklahoma; therefore, they will need to complete an Application for New Motor Vehicle Salesperson License.
The fee for new car salesperson licensing is $25. You also need to provide an affidavit of lawful presence residence for your salesperson.
Your new motor vehicle dealership must also notify the Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission when you terminate a salesperson. For new car dealerships, the form can be found in the Application Packet for Initial Dealer Franchise License(s).

Used Motor Vehicle Dealerships
You can download all the forms you will need to apply for a Used Motor Vehicle Dealership license at the Used Motor Vehicle and Parts Commission website.
The fee to register and license a new Used Motor Vehicle Dealership in Oklahoma is $600 and this amount must be sent to the Used Motor Vehicle, Dismantler, & Manufactured Housing Commission at:

Used Motor Vehicle Salespeople
Just as new car salespeople, used car salespeople must be license in the state of Oklahoma. This is the Application for Used Motor Vehicle Salesperson's License.
