Non-resident Active Duty Personnel in Kansas
If you are active duty military on assignment in Kansas, you and your dependents are not required to change your driver's licenses or motor vehicle registrations over to Kansas and away from your home of record. As long as you are on active duty, you will not be considered Kansas residents in matters related to motor vehicle driver's licenses or vehicle registrations.
Kansas Resident Active Duty Military Personnel
If you are a resident of Kansas and are on active duty in the military outside of Kansas, you may renew your driver's license by mail. Download the applicable Kansas Renewal, Extension or Replacement form, complete the applicable entries and send it, along with a renewal fee and a copy of your military ID card to:

Driver's License Renewals, Kansas Resident Military Dependents
If you are the dependent of an active duty member of the military, and need to renew your Kansas driver's license while stationed out of state, you will need to download and print the appropriate Kansas Renewal, Extension or Replacement form, complete the applicable sections, and mail it, along with a copy of your military dependent ID card to:

If you are stationed outside of Kansas and need to renew your vehicle's registration, you may renew online.
You may not required to pay the property tax on a vehicle registration as long as the active duty member's name is listed on the title.
