Did you recently lose or damage your Indiana vehicle title? Even though it's an important document, titles unfortunately get misplaced all the time. Replace your ahead of time, just in case you need the title when you're selling your car or adding/removing names from it.
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) license agency provides a variety of ways to get your replacement title. All you need to remember to do is make sure you have an unexpired photo ID handy when you visit their offices.
Approved IDs include:
- Driver's license.
- State-issued ID.
- School ID.
- Military ID.
- Bank card.
- Probation card.
- Work ID.
- Membership card.
Also, you'll need to bring something that will identify the vehicle, such as a registration card or the vehicle identification number (VIN). If there's a lien on the vehicle, you will need to present a completed release form from the lien holder.
