When you move to another state from West Virginia, either permanently or temporarily, you have two options regarding your WV license plates.

1. Mail them back to your local DMV office once you're registered in your new state.
2. Keep them as souvenirs! Just make sure they're safe from theft.

No Registration Refund

Unfortunately, West Virginia doesn't offer registration refunds when you move. Not the full amount, not a prorated amount―nothing.
