Manuals in West VirginiaPage Overview
The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles offers many free handbooks and manuals containing information you'll need for obtaining a license, rules and regulations, and more.
The West Virginia DMV Driver Licensing Handbook provides information on just about any topic a motorist could possibly need. From licensing and exam information to responsibilities and driving under the influence, the handbook is a definite must-have for all drivers. The handbook is also available in Spanish and Japanese.
The Commercial Driver's License Manual includes CDL information, licensing procedures and requirements, an overview of traffic laws, third-party descriptions and contact information, and other important addresses and telephone numbers.
The Motorcycle Operator Manual includes a wealth of important information about the motorcycle itself (including mechanical issues), driving (including tips, techniques, and laws), the physical condition of the rider (including fatigue and alcohol or drug influence), and the knowledge and skills tests required to obtain a motorcycle license or endorsement.
The manual also offers information about the West Virginia Motorcycle Safety Program Rider Education classes, the various courses offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and contact information for both organizations.
The West Virginia DMV Information Services Staff and the West Virginia DMV General Counsel have prepared an opt-in brochure to inform drivers of the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) and give them the opportunity to allow prohibited users access to personal information for the purpose of marketing, surveys, or solicitation. Although the brochure isn't technically a manual, it does provide important information that all drivers should read.
Information on several other topics including the West Virginia Code, effective bills, annual reports, and other news is available for download, as well.Other Topics in This Section
