Getting Started

Whether you'll be given the option to take a class depends on your particular situation and what the court deems to be the best way to proceed. This applies to ticket dismissal and point reduction, too.

Note that DC doesn't allow drivers to voluntarily take a safe driving course in order to have points taken off their licenses.

The Driver Improvement Office will provide you with all necessary information, including the class you must take, the date, and the time.

Check with your insurance company to see if you can receive an insurance discount after successfully completing a traffic school course.
