RV & Motorhome Registration in Utah
RVs and motor homes in Utah are registered and titled with the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) just like cars and trucks, except that instead of a uniform age-based fee, you will pay a property tax based on the value and a registration fee based on the weight. RVs are subject to the same safety and emissions tests as cars and trucks and should have their registration renewed every year.
Follow the same steps as you would to register a car, bearing in mind that the fees will vary. For more information about fees and processes for your particular RV, we recommend calling the DMV at (800) 368-8824.
Campers, which unlike motor homes are pulled by other vehicles, are handled by the DMV more like trailers than like cars, with their uniform age-based fees based on whether they're considered a travel trailer, tent trailer, or truck camper. If they weigh more than 750 pounds, they will also be assessed an $11 registration fee.
