DMV Employment
Neither the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) nor the Driver License Division (DLD) of the Department of Public Safety post job openings directly on their public Web sites. However, you may search for openings at these and other Utah state government agencies by clicking "Open Jobs" on the state's Utah Job Match Web site, which is administered by the Department of Human Resource Management. The State of Utah is an equal opportunity employer.
Some job listings on this site are available only to current state employees, who must create an account and log in to view them. Positions that are open to those who are not currently employed by the state can be viewed by choosing a sort option (by title, agency, or category).
Sorting by agency will bring up an alphabetical list of agencies with open jobs; check for openings at the DMV or the Department of Public Safety, which is where Driver License Division opportunities appear.
Some jobs at these agencies require special skills or certifications. To become a driver license examiner, for example, you will be required to obtain certification from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) within 12 months of hire.
Job listings on the Utah Job Match Web site contain quite comprehensive information about the requirements for any DMV or Driver License Division job, conditions of employment (required testing or certification), physical requirements if any, salary, and benefits. Most positions require good people skills, since successful applicants will most likely be dealing with the public, and some will require a thorough background check.
