Donor Information

Becoming an organ donor only takes a few minutes, but those few minutes of your life could possibly add years to someone else's.
How to Become an Organ Donor
It's probably safe to say that the most popular way for you to become an organ donor in Tennessee is by circling "yes" on your driver license application.
You can also become an organ donor by checking the appropriate box on your license renewal form, or by filling out the Tennessee Organ Donor Card on the back of your license.
Alternatives
Remember, you don't have to be a driver to be an organ donor.
For example, you can visit The Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE). This federal nonprofit organization allows you to sign up as an organ, tissue, and/or corneal donor. And it's simple. Just visit their site, print out two copies of the donor card, fill them both out, send one copy to CORE, and put the other in your wallet. It's important to remember that regardless of how you become an organ donor, you need to alert your family members. Instances arise in which doctors still need their permission, even if you're on record as a donor.
