Smog & Emission Checks in South Dakota

South Dakota residents have much to be thankful for, including air quality that is among the best in the nation.
In fact, South Dakota is one of only a handful of states that don't require vehicle emissions testing of any kind.
Most states require residents to have their vehicles regularly checked to ensure that the emissions systems aren't emitting too many pollutants. This testing is often required before residents may register or title their vehicles. In some states, the testing must be done every year.
So, enjoy the fresh air―and be glad that you don't live in a polluted state!
