National Teen Driver Safety Week:
October 19-25

Car crashes are the leading killer of teens in this country. That’s why Congress passed a joint resolution last year designating every third week in October National Teen Driver Safety Week. By taking action and increasing awareness, teens, community leaders, educators, and parents across the country are getting involved in their communities. For more info on getting involved or creating a campaign of your own, visit Ride Like a Friend.

Ford's MyKey System Could Help Teens Drive More Safely

The mega motor manufacturer introduced MyKey this month, saying the new innovative technology that allows parents to limit their teens’ speed and audio volume should make for a safer driving experience. The feature―which debuts in the 2010 Ford Focus―allows parents to program the key with desired limits to speed and audio volume. It also promotes safety-belt usage and sounds low-fuel warnings. Ford also states its new solution can also improve fuel efficiency.

Car Enthusiasts Gear Up for LA Auto Show

Next month, car geeks from around the world will flock to the City of Angels for one of the West Coast’s biggest automotive events, the LA Auto Show. Scheduled November 21-30, the show will feature 1,000 of the newest models, futuristic concept cars, the latest in hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles, world and North American debuts, exotic sports and luxury cars, and more accessories and electronics than a car buff can stand. You’ll want to stay close to the action, so book a hotel near the Los Angeles Convention Center soon.

Our Goal: Safer Drivers. Shorter Lines.
