DMV Employment
If you're looking for a job with Rhode Island's Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), you literally have to look. The DMV does not offer a specific Web site full of job openings.
DMV positions are handled by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training. All state jobs, including those at the DMV, appear on a Department of Labor link appropriately named "State Job Openings."
Postings include job title, base salary information, location, and government department. For the most part, DMV employment can be divided into jobs that require civil service exams―and those that don't.
State job applications can be easily downloaded and take no more than ten minutes to complete. However, it's important to read the application carefully and make sure you don't omit any necessary information.
Because there are only eight DMV offices, job openings at the Rhode Island DMV are infrequent. Your best bet is to check the Department of Labor's Web site on a daily basis.
