Landing a job with the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) definitely has its perks. First, you will be employed by the Taxation and Revenue Department, which is a division of the State of New Mexico. Working for the state comes with a wealth of superb benefits and plenty of job security. Second, if you are working with the MVD, you just may never have to wait in line to renew your driver's license.

There are quite a few MVD field offices peppered around the state, and there are occasional openings at each. All open MVD positions are posted on the state's job board. The board also has employment listings for some of the state's other agencies, and it allows job seekers to search by job location and title.

Then there are numerous state departments that place career opportunities on their own sites. So it will take some wandering around to see all the available state jobs―but what is a job hunt without the actual searching?

The New Mexico State Personnel Office manages the application process and takes care of all the initial recruiting for civil service jobs. The first step in applying for a position is completing a job interest form. This is a basic application where you disclose your work history and educational background. All of your information can be filled out and submitted online.
