Commercial Drivers
Commercial drivers employed in the transportation industry keep the wheels of commerce turning across New Mexico. It is the New Mexico MVD that issues commercial driver's licenses (CDL) in New Mexico.
The renewal of CDLs is also uder the jurisdiction of the MVD. And, if you ever lose your New Mexico CDL or have it stolen, you can order a replacement through the MVD.
In addition to the issuance of commercial driver's licenses, the New Mexico MVD also takes on the responsibility setting the educational requirements for those who drive commercial vehicles in New Mexico. States must meet minimum federal guidelines regarding education and eligibility standards, but New Mexico determines additional requirements as well.
