RV & Motorhome Registration in New Jersey

When you register your motor home or recreational vehicle (RV) in New Jersey, the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) gives you 14 days from that date to have the vehicle inspected.
To register your motor home, first visit any MVC Agency with one of these documents:
- The title
- The Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO)
If more than one MCO was issued for your motor home because the original design was modified, bring both MCOs or the title and the additional MCO.
When you fill out the registration application, you will be asked to provide proof of insurance, the vehicle's odometer reading, and your driver license number. A driver license isn't required, but in that case you must be at least 17 and provide proof of identity.
If you also need to be issued a title for the motor home or RV, complete the sales tax information on your MCO and pay the required sales tax and titling fees ($60 for a title with no lien, or $85 for a title with a lien).
The fee to register your RV or motor home will be calculated based on its year and weight class, just like a basic passenger vehicle.
