The Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) allows you to pay your traffic tickets online.
The role of the municipal court: If you have a specific concern about a traffic ticket you receive, you should contact the municipal court where that ticket was issued.
Most New Jersey citizens come into contact with the judicial system, either as a defendant, a victim, or a witness, through the municipal courts. They are considered to be courts of limited jurisdiction, including the responsibility related to motor vehicle and parking tickets.

Even after you've paid for a ticket, the points will remain on your driver history record. You have the option of taking a course to erase a number of points from your record if you wish.
Defensive Driving Program: Check out the list of approved third-party providers and sign up for a course. Completion will result in two points being removed from your driving record. Even better, your insurance company may give you a rate reduction. (Call your agent for details.)
Driver Improvement Program: Once you've accumulated 12 to 14 points on your driving record, you'll receive a Notice of Scheduled Suspension from the MVC. At that time, you'll have the option of attending this course.
This course is offered in lieu of a 30-day suspension for drivers who accumulate 12 or more points on their record within two years. Up to three points will be removed from your driving record if you successfully complete the program, which costs $100.
You'll receive details about this course from the MVC if you are eligible to attend.
For more information about suspensions and reinstatement, please see Suspended Licenses on this site.
