Registration Renewals

In New Hampshire, you must renew your vehicle registration during your birth month.
While you have the entire month to do so, it's best to get it over with early for two reasons. First, it's illegal to drive an unregistered vehicle. Second, New Hampshire requires an official inspection along with registration renewal.
Renew Online
In addition to the various registration substations and town clerk locations, you can also renew online using New Hampshire's C.O.M.P.A.S.S. program.
All you need is your registration certificate, an email account, and a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
Note that you can only renew online if there's been no change in your information.
Renew By Mail
You can also renew your New Hampshire registration by mail. Simply contact your local town clerk and request to have a renewal packet sent to your home. Follow the instructions in the packet, mail the packet back, and wait for your registration to arrive in the mail.
