Sight
- You must correctly read the vision test's 20/40 line with both eyes. If you wear glasses or contacts to pass the test, you must wear them when driving.
- You must read the vision test's 20/30 line if you're blind in one eye.
- You will not be allowed to continue with the licensing process if you fail your vision test.
Hearing
There are no restrictions in New Hampshire.
Seizures
If you suffer a blackout or loss of consciousness, your license will be suspended. You must remain free of additional epidoses for a period of one full year and submit to a medical evaluation before your license will be fully restored.
Aging Drivers
Drivers 75 and older must take a road test as part of their license renewal process.
Reporting an Incompetent Driver
The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) accepts letters from family members, police officers, courts and other DMVs. It does not accept anonymous tips.
In your letter, include the driver's name, address, license number (if possible), date of birth, and reasons why you think this driver is unfit to operate a vehicle. Also include your name and contact information.
