Replacing a Lost Registration in North Dakota
No need to chastise yourself. The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) makes it very easy to replace a lost registration card or license tab (the tiny square sticker that affixes to your rear license plate).Duplicate Registration or Tag
To order a duplicate registration, a license tab, or both you'll need to complete an Application for Certificate of Title & Registration of a Vehicle. You can then either drop this off at your local motor vehicle office, or mail it to:
- North Dakota Department of Transportation
- Motor Vehicle Division
- 608 E. Boulevard Ave.
- Bismarck, ND 58505-0780
Be sure to include the appropriate fee. A duplicate registration card will break you for $2 and tags cost $1.
Apply in person if you're in a hurry to receive duplicates. Otherwise you should receive your new registration goods within two weeks or less.
