Replacing a Lost License
Just visit any Driver License site with acceptable identification and a check for $8. Although it is not required by law, notifying the police is strongly suggested.
If you're pursuing a duplicate because you've changed your name due to marriage or divorce you will also need to show the proper identification, but you will only be charged $3.
Lost License While Traveling Outside North Dakota
Should you lose your license while traveling in the United States or abroad, the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) makes it easy to receive a temporary duplicate in three days or less. Simply e-mail the department at dl@nd.gov and be sure to include your full name, your date of birth, and a fax number.
If you don't have a fax number, you can instead have your duplicate license shipped via overnight delivery. You will be required to pay all shipping costs.
