Office Locations
The Office of Driver and Vehicle Services, a branch of the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), oversees the Driver's License and Traffic Safety Division and the Motor Vehicle Division.
Through its driver's license sites throughout North Dakota, the Driver's License and Traffic Safety Division handles driver license testing, driver license suspensions and reinstatements, and the issuance and renewal of driver licenses and state identification cards.
At motor vehicle sites sprinkled throughout the state, the Motor Vehicle Division tackles the issuance of registrations, titles, parking permits, and license plates.

North Dakota Highway Patrol
To have a vehicle inspected, go to a highway patrol location to have the task completed by a state trooper.
Appointments
Residents must set their road test appointments by calling a driver's license site.
Commercial drivers must schedule their road test appointments by contacting any automated driver's license site.
Appointments are required for all types of road tests.
