Sight

Unrestricted License

With or without glasses you must have 20/40 vision in at least one eye.

Restricted License

You must have a minimum of 20/100 vision in at least one eye.

Hearing

There are no driving restrictions.

Seizures

You must be seizure-free for six to 12 months before you'll be allowed to resume driving. Each situation gets reviewed by the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV may ask for a doctor's report on your condition.

Aging Drivers

  • There are no elderly driver restrictions or requirements.
  • Drivers over 60 are not required to parallel park during road testing.

Reporting an Incompetent Driver

In your letter include the driver's name, address, license number (if possible), date of birth and an explanation why you believe the driver in question is unfit to steer a car. You must also include your name and contact information―anonymous letters are not accepted.
