All job openings (vacancy announcements) for Montana's Motor Vehicle Division appear on the State's Job Service Web site and sometimes in Montana's major newspapers. The newspaper ads usually post on Wednesdays and Sundays.

When a Motor Vehicle Division vacancy announcement is posted, it will be packed with everything you need to know: title, salary, location, full-time or part-time status, permanent or temporary, descriptions of duties, educational requirements, selection process, closing date, testings if they apply, and where applications will be accepted.

Like filling out most job applications, completing it accurately is considered paramount. Late, incomplete, or unsigned applications will be automatically rejected regardless of your qualifications. E-mailed and faxed applications are generally accepted, but you should confirm that with the Motor Vehicle Division prior to sending.

After submitting your application, be prepared to have your patience tested. Because of the State's thorough screening process, it generally takes three to six weeks before you will be notified if you made the cut or not.
