Bill of Sale in Montana
When buying or selling a vehicle in Montana you must complete a Bill of Sale (Form MV24) If you are the buyer, you will need a copy of this form to begin the titling and registering process. If you're not up to speed with the computer world, you can get a copy at any county treasurer's office.
Make sure all of the necessary information is accurate, especially the vehicle identification number (VIN). It is suggested that you match the number on the form with the number on the car before submitting the form as proof of ownership. Any discrepancies will cause delays in obtaining your registration and permanent plates.
