RV & Motorhome Registration in Mississippi

The Mississippi State Tax Commission issues tags and titles for recreational vehicles (RV) and motorhomes. To register one of these vehicles in the state, you will need the following:
- Completed application, Form 78-002 or Form 72-002, depending on the type of RV you are titling
- Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin if the RV or motorhome is new or the Certificate of Title signed over to you if you are registering a used vehicle
- Odometer disclosure, if required
- I{Bill of Sale}Bill of Sale}
When titling a motorhome with two parts (the chassis and the home, itself), you must provide both certificates of origin from the manufacturer(s). The title will list the vehicle identification number (VIN) associated with the chassis. However, the home will also be covered under that title.
You will need to register your RV or motorhome at your local tax collector's office. You have seven days to register your purchase, or if you've just moved to Mississippi, you have 30 days from establishing residence in the state to do so.
Fees
Registration fees in Mississippi are $10 the first time you register your vehicle; $8.75 for renewals. You'll also need to pay a privilege tax, ad valorem, and sales tax. These amounts are determined by the type of vehicle you register and the county in which you live. Check with your local tax collector's office for specifics.
