Types of Maine BMV Appointments

Currently, the ME Bureau of Motor Vehicles allows you to request road test appointments for:

  • Standard driver's license.
  • Commercial driver license (CDL).

How to Schedule a BMV Appointment

When you receive your learner's permit for your standard license or CDL, you'll also receive a test request card. When you've completed the necessary driver education and you're ready to take the road exam, you can mail said test request card to the ME Bureau of Motor Vehicles' main office in Augusta, located at:

Bureau of Motor Vehicles
29 State House Station
Augusta, ME 04333

Once your appointment request is received, the BMV will schedule your standard license or CDL road exam at the testing station nearest to you. You'll receive confirmation of your appointment by mail, which you'll need to take to the BMV on the day of your behind-the-wheel exam.

If you need to cancel or change your appointment due to bad road conditions, call (207) 624-9000 extension 52119.
