Replacing a Lost CDL

Identification Until You Get Home
If your license was in your wallet and the wallet was stolen, it is always s good idea to file a police report. The Kansas DMV recommends that you do, and that you keep a copy of the police report for your files. That way, you have additional proof to show any other law enforcement officer that may ask.
Replacing Your CDL
Once you get home to Kansas, you will need to go to your local exam station and ask the representative for the correct form to replace a lost CDL, and pay the appropriate fee. You will need to provide primary and secondary identification in order to receive a new CDL.
Kansas does not allow the replacement of a CDL by mail―you must apply in person.
