For Individuals:
Although you can order a driving record directly from the Kansas DMV, individuals can order it online through a third party: DrivingRecord.org. These are non-certified and are for employment screening purposes.
For Businesses:
Businesses can order Kansas driving records as part of their employment screening practices from DrivingRecords.com. DrivingRecords.com also offers other services such as criminal records, SSN verifications, and other employment screening services.
Kansas driving records, also known as MVRs, are records that provide a history of violations, suspensions, and other details about a person's driving history.
Although you can order a driving record directly from the Kansas DMV, one of the fastest ways to get your Driving Record is to order it online through a 3rd-party advertiser: DrivingRecord.org. Get your driving record delivered via:

Driving Records
Driving records are the gold standard as far as car insurance companies are concerned. But mistakes happen―even in government offices. It's a good idea to check your driving record every so often, just to make sure everything is correct. It's especially wise if you've had a ticket that should be removed from your record. It never hurts to check up on these things!
Check Your Driver's License Status
You can order a driving record from a third-party company who specializes in expediting those records, such as the one at the top of this page, or you can go to any Kansas driver's license exam station to get a copy of your driving record. If you order in the office, you will need to show your current driver's license and pay the $6 fee by check or money order.
Request a Copy by Mail
If you would rather have the record sent by U.S. mail, you can send a letter with:
- Your full name
- Your driver's license number
- Your date of birth
- Your current address
- A check or money order for $6
Mail all of the above to:

- Topeka, KS 66612-2021
You will receive a printout of your driving record about two weeks after your request is received.
Reading Your Driving Record
Trying to decipher the contents of a Kansas driving record can be frustrating. The Kansas Department of Revenue offers a document explaining how to read your driving record. If you are still having problems making it out after reading the document, you may call (785) 296-3671 and ask for additional assistance.
Obtaining Another Person's Driving Record
The process for obtaining a copy of another person's driving record is identical to the process for obtaining a copy of your own except you will need to include one of the following:
- A signed letter from the other person, giving you permission to obtain and read a copy of their driving record.
- A completed Third Party Consent Form signed by the person whose records you wish to obtain.
You may make the request for another person's driving record in person or by mail. If you appear in person at the exam station, the representative will be able to provide you with a copy of the record while you wait.
