The Kansas Department of Administration posts State job listings online, making it easier for applicants to find the positions they are looking for. You can even apply online, so your job hunt goes faster and you increase your chances of finding that elusive perfect position.
How to Search
Here's how to search for jobs with the Kansas Department of Revenue or other state agencies:
- Begin by searching the current job listings.
- Next, check the Kansas Joblink for job listings and tips for interviewing and resume building.
- When you see an interesting job listing, you'll need to register your personal data.
- Once that is done, you'll be ready to send your application to the Kansas government agency of your choice.
- After that, you can begin researching the details for the specific job you wish to land.
Other opportunities for finding great Kansas government job listings are the occasional Career Fairs hosted by the State of Kansas. Check the current events page of the State's Web site for regular updates on these events.
After You're Hired
You've been through the job hunt, the interview, the second interview, the background investigation, and the paperwork, and now you're ready to get down to work! Congratulation on your new job!
One of the investigative procedures in Kansas is the State of Kansas Tax Clearance check. This is an investigation of your taxes done to make sure that you don't have any outstanding tax bills with the State. You'll be asked to fill out a tax clearance information form before you start your new job.
If the tax check shows a balance due, you will be required to pay this balance or otherwise handle the situation before you can go to work for the State.
Getting Your Own Tax Clearance
Some people prefer to do tax clearances themselves. If you would prefer to get your own clearance, you will need to send a written request with the following information:
- Your full name
- Tax identification number, if applicable
- Social Security number
- Current address
- Any registered tax types
- Type of business, if applicable
- Telephone number
- If you want the tax clearance sent to someone else, the recipient's information is required, as well
Sign the request and send it to:
- Analytical Research Technical Team
- Attn: Tax Clearance
- Docking State Office Building
- Room 381
- 915 SW Harrison
- Topeka, KS 66612
Or, you may fax your request to (785) 296-3655.
