Commercial Drivers
Commercial drivers employed in the transportation industry keep the wheels of commerce turning across Indiana. It is the Indiana BMV that issues commercial driver's licenses (CDL) in Indiana.
The renewal of CDLs is also uder the jurisdiction of the BMV. And, if you ever lose your Indiana CDL or have it stolen, you can order a replacement through the BMV.
In addition to the issuance of commercial driver's licenses, the Indiana BMV also takes on the responsibility setting the educational requirements for those who drive commercial vehicles in Indiana. States must meet minimum federal guidelines regarding education and eligibility standards, but Indiana determines additional requirements as well.
