DMV Office Locations
Hawaii does not have a statewide Department of Motor Vehicles. Instead, each county has a system of vehicle registration offices that conduct similar business.
To find out more about licensing, consult the government sites of the City and County of Honolulu, the County of Hawaii, the County of Kauai, and the County of Maui.
For information on registering your vehicle in the City and County of Honolulu, the County of Hawaii, the County of Kauai, and the County of Maui, visit each area's official site.
Appointments
Depending on where you live, the availability of road testing appointments, as well as the methods to make the appointments, will differ. For instance, the city and county of Honolulu offer online appointment scheduling for road testing, except for commercial driver or motorcycle testing. You may also make an appointment by calling a driver license location.
If you live on the Big Island, you may make an appointment by contacting a driver license location that offers appointments.
If you live on Kauai or Maui, you should contact individual driver's license locations for appointment availability information.
If you're a commercial driver needing to take a skills test, you can make an appointment by contacting a CDL office that offers testing (scroll to the bottom of the link's page for listings).
Additionally, third-party CDL testing is available through authorized companies only on Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. Check for appointment availability by contacting these sites.
