Driver Licenses

The Georgia Department of Driver Services handles all driver license categories, including driving records. Type your ZIP code into the form on the Driver's License Customer Service Center site to find the location nearest you.

Vehicle Titles and Registration

The Georgia Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division administers all motor vehicle titling and vehicle registration matters. More specifically, the County Tax Commissioner's office is where you'll take care of vehicle registration. Simply visit the official state site, select your county from a drop-down menu and you'll be directed to the nearest Tax Commissioner's tag office.

Appointments

To make an appointment for a road test (including motorcycle) up to 90 days ahead, dial the call center reservation line at either:

• (678) 413-8500 or (678) 413-8400 for the Atlanta area

• (866) 754-3687 for outside Atlanta

Select option three.

If it's busy, try calling (678) 413-8500. Be sure to call between 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are available for any driver license center.

CDL road tests appointments may be made by calling the same numbers. However, the road tests are only available at the Albany, Gainesville, Jackson, Milledgeville, Dalton and Thomson customer service centers.

You may also call the reservation line to request an appointment to exchange an out-of-state driver's license. But, this transaction is only available at the South DeKalb Mall, North Cobb in Marietta, Lithonia, Lawrenceville, and Locust Grove locations.
