DMV Employment

Career opportunities within Georgia's government are diverse. Aside from positions with the Motor Vehicle Division or the Department of Driver Services, civil service careers span all areas of Georgia's state infrastructure. Job listings available through The Job Site are updated regularly and list the minimum and preferred qualifications for each vacancy.
Some jobs feature online applications; others require you to mail an employment application to:
- Department of Driver Services (DDS)
- Office of Human Resources
- 2206 East View Parkway
- P.O. Box 80447
- Conyers, GA 30013
Resumes will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by one of the state's employment applications. Your application status will not be given over the phone.
Testing
Most jobs available with the state require some type of testing. A written or performance test may be required―perhaps both.
You may take the written tests on a walk-in basis in Atlanta or at a designated testing facility outside the metro area. You will need to apply for the position online before taking the test, and you should have a copy of your application with you. If you are testing outside the metro area, you will be given testing locations when you apply.
Benefits
As expected for civil servants, employees of the State of Georgia are offered generous benefits as part of their compensation. These perks include insurance, vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay, retirement, and more.
The basic benefits include:
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- Accrued vacation time, from 10 hours per month for up to five years of continuous employment to 14 hours per month for 10 years of employment or longer.
- Ten hours a month of sick leave.
- Participation in health, dental, life, and accident insurance policies.
- Retirement contributions.
