Working at the Florida Division of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) can be a rewarding experience. You'll find HSMV job listings along with other state government vacancies on the People First Web site sponsored by the State of Florida.

For your convenience, you can register for free on the site to receive e-mail notifications of jobs in your areas of interest. Registering allows you to save your search preferences (such as desired salary level, city or county, and occupational field) so you won't have to type them in every time you visit the site.

If you're hesitant to give out personal information when registering, the system allows you to remain anonymous until you're ready to apply for a specific position.

If you don't want to register yet, but simply want to browse through current vacancies, then just click "Search" under "Search Vacancies" at the bottom of the registration page. If you see a job that interests you, you'll then have the option of registering and applying online for the job later.

Applications are submitted online through the job listing system, which walks you through each step so you don't run the risk of omitting a necessary piece of information. Each job listing offers a fairly comprehensive amount of information, including skills needed, pay range, required education, amount of travel, summary of responsibilities, and special notes (like a mandatory background check or drug test).

You can mail it or bring it in person to the office that has the vacancy you desire. The Web site printed on the application is no longer in service, however, so make sure you go to the People First Web site to browse jobs before filling out the application.
