Appointments in Delaware

The only services that you may schedule an appointment for at the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) are the road skills test and the commercial driver's license (CDL) skills test. Please see below for more details.
Not all tasks require an in-person visit to the DE DMV. Find out what you can take care of from your own computer by accessing the Online Services page. All other services must be done in person. To minimize wait times, please see below.

Tips to Minimize Wait Time at the DMV
The best time to visit the Delaware DMV offices is typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Peak periods tend to occur on the 15th and the last day of each month, as well as Wednesdays from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Try to avoid the DMV offices at these times.
There are two DMV offices in New Castle County. If lines are long, you may want to head over to the other office for a shorter wait time.
Also, don't forget to utilize the branch wait times feature before your visit to help you plan accordingly.
