Manuals in Arkansas

Choose the Right Manual for You
The Office of Motor Vehicles publishes three manuals to assist drivers: one for drivers of passenger cars, one for motorcycles (in English and in Spanish), and one for commercial drivers. These manuals provide a wealth of information to help you become a safe driver.
Arkansas Driver's License Manual
The comprehensive driver's manual is dedicated to equipment safety, sharing the road, and traffic rules for all drivers.
The manual includes a detailed section on the road skills tests, and you can pick up a practice written test through your drivers education classes.
Preparing for the road skills test should be a big priority for you. Remember, in Arkansas the state police will give you this test. Being well prepared and knowing what to expect may help you with any driving jitters.
Habla espanol? The Spanish driver's manual is available online.
Commercial Driver's License Manual
Because many commercial vehicles travel across state lines, the CDL Manual includes information on both state and federal laws.
The CDL Manual will be your primary source to study for the written and road skills tests. Even after you pass the exams you will refer back to the manual frequently.
Keep an updated copy of the CDL Manual in your vehicle for reference at your fingertips.
Motorcycle Manual
The Arkansas motorcycle manual is your main source for motorcycle licensing. The motorcycle license is a Class M license; you will learn about the qualifications, process, and traffic laws in the drivers manual.
A motorcycle safety course is encouraged by the Office of MV to promote the good driving habits taught in the course. The Office of MV has a division, Safety Responsibility which will help you locate safe driving programs near you.
The driver's manuals are updated less frequently than the laws. You'll want to stay current on all traffic rules and Office of Motor Vehicles policies. Visit the Office of Motor Vehicles often.
