DMV Employment
To be considered for a job with Alabama's Department of Public Safety, you must be registered on the state's Employment Register. You can pick up an application from the State Personnel Office. Applications are also available to download online.
You must meet the minimum requirements of each job for which you apply. You may be tested for some jobs. With each of the requirements, and with testing, you are given points towards a merit system. The higher your score, the better your chances are at getting that particular job.
Veterans and disabled veterans are given extra points on their score, so be sure to note on the application if you are one.
Employment opportunities within the state are listed two different ways. Some are listed continually, so you may apply for them at any time. Others are current listings for jobs available, with an application deadline. The type of job decides which category it falls under, so it is wise to check both lists.
